Trade Finance Client
Embarking on a complete refurbishment of their seven-floor London headquarters, the aim was to rejuvenate a tired and dated interior that was negatively impacting team morale. By integrating design, pre-construction, and construction services, AIS delivered a transformative solution that not only improved the physical workspace but also fostered significant cultural change. The refurbishment included a Cat A and B scheme that blended amenities, business functions, and cultural elements across seven floors, resulting in a SKA Gold accredited interior that enhanced footfall, retention, and future growth potential.

Design Concept and Cultural Integration
AIS’s design concept emphasised the commonalities between two cultures of the bank’s two primary office locations. The interior design featured rich sandy colours juxtaposed with deep blues, reminiscent of the Mediterranean sky and the sea surrounding the British Isles. Textured wall finishes and timber veneers evoked desert sand and weathered stone, while arched windows on the fifth-floor framed views of London’s architecture, creating a playful yet harmonious blend of the two cultures.
Client challenges
A tired and dated interior was having a detrimental impact on team morale.
Company leadership looking to spark significant cultural change by repairing the disconnect between their goals and the experience of their staff.
A more flexible space, facilitating hybrid working practices, as well as remaining alluring for the other tenants.
Transformational impact
A complete overhaul of the building, designed to future-proof the space and attract potential recruits, clients and visitors.
Well equipped with facilities that include sleek shower rooms and changing spaces, dining and breakout areas, prayer rooms, quiet contemplation spaces and open-plan social spaces.
Brand and people centric, the building’s interior now outwardly reflects the business’ core values and supports it’s people.
Design choices, finishes specifications and construction practices achieved SKA Gold accreditation.
