Creating a home from home was key for this Saudi-based financial institution when establishing its presence in London. Acting as a trusted advisor, growing family’s wealth and protecting it for generations to come, its office close to Bond Street needed to support both its staff and provide a comfortable base for visiting clients.
The reception area creates a statement of reassurance that this company is here for the long-term. Its logo sits central to the space, carved into a Corian surface which has the appearance of a Roman stone wall. This sense of longevity is echoed in the materials and design of the reception desk, a striking stone structure that provides visitors with a feeling of permanence as soon as they enter. The backdrop to the desk is an eye-catching cascading chain curtain that flows around the columns, just one of the elements of the design which encourages people to flow seamlessly through the space.
The office comprises open plan seating along with a boardroom, meeting room, CEO’s office and tea point. There is also the addition of a guest office with a desk and a softer lounge area, providing clients with the perfect base during their stay in London.
Material choices are key throughout to maximise light, create a sense of fluidity and embed a feeling of timeless elegance and luxury into the space. Seamless porcelain and marble flooring in both matt and gloss finishes are mirrored across the walls, providing a perfect surface to refract light from the LEDs, which softly outline the ceilings. A sense of warmth is created through walnut joinery, brass accents, teal velvet furniture and bespoke coloured carpet, while privacy is maintained through stylish acoustic panels, voile curtains, smoked glass and the addition of a private phone booth.
Every detail was considered with AIS supporting in dressing the space with timeless design accents such as Eames House Birds, handmade Bath Aqua Glass vases and Burleigh pottery with green detailing – a colour that represents progress, prosperity and generosity in Saudi Arabia.
